Mamardashvili: "I work every day to improve"
Giorgi Mamardashvili talked to VCF Media this week, in the run-up to Valencia CF's game against Rayo Vallecano, to coment on his adaptation to the club this year and his desire to play in the Copa del Rey final.
The team's form
The team are working day after day, developing and never stopping. I want more and more, and I want to get to the Copa del Rey final with the team.
Personal progress
I'm working hard every day to develop more and more for Valencia CF. I didn't expect it, but I want to show more for the future. I want to be a better goalkeeper. This opportunity that they have given me is one that I want to make the most of.
Adapting to Valencia
I want to learn the language here. Every day is a challenge. I am only focusing on working hard. I live on my own in Valencia. Some days I take a walk through the city, but right now I am only focusing on the cup final. People recognise me on the street now. They ask for photos and autographs. It's a big thing for me. Thank you to all the Valencia CF fans for their affection and how nice they are to me. I really like it.
Mestalla
It's very important for me to play at Mestalla. You can feel that some very important players have played in the stadium. The fans applaud and you feel their warmth a lot. Playing here is fantastic. It's a big honour.
Support from teammates
My teammates have helped me out a lot. I want to give special thanks to Cillessen and Ochotorena. When I came here, I didn't know how to speak Spanish. Cillessen and I would speak in English. He helped me a lot, taught me bits of the language... I want to thank Ochotorena as well, because he is a great professional.
Representing Georgia
I'm very grateful to my family and I want to thank them here. They support me a lot and are very happy watching how I do, day after day. I want to thank every Georgian who watches our games, for the support that they give.
Bordalás
Bordalás is a great professional. I'm a big admirer of his. I'm very grateful for the trust that he has shown in me. I want to thank him. I love working with him.
